Van awning installation
Fiamma F45S and F80S awnings on your factory rails, roof rack or van wall, with the solar and roof gear planned around them.

Shade where you camp
An awning turns the side door into a porch. We install Fiamma awnings: the roof-mounted F80S, like the F80S 320 on a 144 Sprinter, and the F45S, which hangs off the side of a roof rack or the van wall. We fit bracket kits for factory roof rails, mount to existing racks, and remove old awnings when you are upgrading.
We also bond Fiamma leg bracket pads to the side of the van so the support legs lock to the body instead of the ground, and we move solar panels when an awning needs the clearance.
End section through a van awning. The case hangs from a bracket on the factory rails, a roof rack or the wall, the canopy rolls out to the lead rail, and the legs drop to the ground or lock to pads on the van.

Weights without brackets, from Fiamma dealer listings. The F80S needs a Sprinter bracket kit for vans with or without factory rails. The F45S ships with wall brackets, and rack brackets are sold separately.
How we do it
Pick the model and mount
Awning, length and bracket kit matched to your rails, rack and roof layout.
Clear the roof
Solar, fan and AC checked for clearance. Panels move if the case needs the room.
Brackets
Bracket kit bolted to factory rails or the rack, or wall brackets sealed to the body.
Hang and adjust
Awning hung, leveled and tensioned so it rolls out straight and closes tight.
Leg pads and walkthrough
Leg bracket pads bonded to the van side, then open, close and tie-down shown at pickup.
Things to think about first
Rails, rack or wall
The F80S mounts on the roof to factory rails or some low-profile racks. The F45S hangs off the side of a rack or the wall.
Solar and roof gear
The case needs a clear roof edge. Panels close to the edge may have to move.
Wind
Roll it in when the wind picks up. Tie-downs and leg pads help, but no awning likes a gust.
Doors, windows and flares
Length and position are set so the sliding door, windows and flares still clear.

Questions about awnings
F80S or F45S?
With factory roof rails or a low-profile rack, the F80S sits tight to the roof. With a taller rack, or to mount on the wall, the F45S is the usual pick.
Can you replace my old awning?
Yes. We remove the old awning and brackets, seal the old holes, and mount the new one, often on your existing roof rack.
Will it work with my solar panels?
Usually. We check clearance first and shift panels when the awning needs the room.
Do I need the leg bracket pads?
They are optional but worth it. They give the legs a solid spot on the van side so the awning sits steadier at camp.
