Finish or fix your DIY van build

Started a build and ran out of time, skills or patience? We pick up where you left off, safety-critical work first.

Van with framing and insulation mid-build

Most shops only start from empty. We don't.

Plenty of shops won't touch a half-finished van. We will. We've reworked flooring and battery systems in DIY Sprinters, finished partial builds, and helped DIYers with just the parts they didn't want to do themselves: windows, fans, electrical, heaters and seats.

We start with an inspection, separate what's safety-critical from what's nice to have, and write it up so you choose what to hand us and what to keep doing yourself.

What we check first when we take over a build. Safety-critical systems come first, then everything else is your call.

  1. 1Electrical fusing, cable size, crimps, settings
  2. 2Roof and windows sealant, primed edges, leaks
  3. 3Heater exhaust routing and altitude setup
  4. 4Seats anchorage strength
  5. 5Water freeze damage, leaks
  6. 6Cabinetry and bed frames anchored to the van's structure

How we do it

  1. Inspect

We go through the van and take photos.

  2. Triage

Electrical, combustion heaters and seats first.

  3. Written scope

    Must-fix items separated from nice-to-haves.

  4. Fix and finish

The systems you hand us, done to our standard.

  5. Document

Wiring and settings notes for anything we touched.

What we find most in DIY vans

Electrical

No main fuse near the battery, undersized cable, bad crimps, lithium on an alternator without a DC-DC, lead-acid charge settings.

Roof and windows

Fans and windows without butyl or lap sealant, cut edges left bare and rusting.

Seats

Seats bolted to thin floor metal without proper anchorage.

Heaters

Exhaust near doors or windows, no altitude setup.

Questions about DIY build help

Will you work on a van someone else built?

Yes. We start with an inspection either way. Because an engineer is on every job, we can work out how an existing custom build goes together and design around it, where a lot of shops would want to rip it out and start over.

Do I have to redo everything?

Usually not. Safety-critical fixes first, good work stays.

Can I keep doing parts myself?

Yes. Many customers hand us one system and keep the rest.

Can you document my system?

Yes, for anything we touch.
